Spring Blooms, Coming Out of Our Winter Cocoons

Updated: Mar 25, 2021

Join us over Easter Weekend, on Saturday April 3rd 2021 at 1:30 pm. for our Spring Blooms workshop led by Bob Bowles. Bob is an award-winning writer, artist, photographer, and naturalist. Bob is also the developer and coordinator of the Ontario Master Naturalist Certificate program offered at Lakehead University.

We will be talking about spring blooms of flowers and leaves on trees and plants that were formed last autumn, packaged tightly inside the winter buds for the last five months and are now busting open with the warm spring days. Bob will also talk about Easter eggs and Easter Bunnies and how they became part of our Easter Celebrations.

Spring is a time of re-awakening in nature therefore it's a great time to be outside, enjoying this natural phenomenon, learning more about it and sharing our knowledge with others who enjoy and appreciate nature. We'll walk in nature taking in the sights, sounds, smells and touch of the outdoors. Let's celebrate the awakening of nature and Easter together in the special event.

Workshop begins at 1:30 PM. and will finish at 3:00 P.M. Please join us around the bonfire at the end of the field workshop for any questions you may have and to socialize with physical distancing protocols in place, one moose length apart. You are welcome to bring snacks and drinks for yourself, your family and to share.

We do recognize that some individuals and families may be suffering financial hardships from the pandemic, therefore we have decided to offer this workshop on a donation basis. Registration is required. Please email robertlbowlesnaturecentre@gmail.com to register.

We will be following Covid-19 protocols. We will be limiting the number of participants to 15.

Please also note this workshop may be canceled/postponed if changes or further restrictions are implemented by Simcoe Muskoka Health Unit.
