Service Description

Enjoy being outdoors for an afternoon, walking in nature, and viewing the spectacular colours of autumn over the Thanksgiving weekend. Come and explore our new nature centre on Saturday, October 9 from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. The nature centre is located in Simcoe County in the Township of Ramara, just east of Orillia, Ontario. This area will be ablaze with colour. Join us for a foliage frolic between 2:00 and 3:00. Bob Bowles, award winning author, photographer and Master Naturalist will teach us about the biology of trees, why the leaves change colour and how trees contribute to our well being and help the earth. We will learn about the importance of trees and wetlands in combating climate change. Bob will also talk about mushrooms and their relationship with the trees. Come and spend the afternoon in the company of majestic trees, spectacular colours, mushrooms and fellow autumn lovers. Let’s give thanks to our friends, the trees. We’ll have a bonfire, so bring something to roast and toast. We’ll also have some fun games. All Covid-19 protocols outlined in the Ontario Roadmap to Reopen. https://www.ontario.ca/page/reopening-ontario will be followed and observed. Therefore plan ahead and register for the afternoon visit and workshop. You can contact us at robertlbowlesnaturecentre@gmail.com to confirm your spot. All participants must be registered for this event. Donations will be accepted. Please also visit https://experience.simcoe.ca/ and https://brucegreysimcoe.com/home for more information about fun and educational activities offered in Simcoe County.
